Contract Manager, Taiwan

JUMBO Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Contract Manager with experience with procurement and contract management of large-scale infrastructure contracts from either renewable energy projects or related industries.

This is a unique opportunity to work in an international environment with some of the most experienced industry professionals and with international developers and suppliers.

The Job

As a Contract Manager, you will be supporting our client with the procurement of foundations and other relevant scopes for the ongoing “Round 3” activities in Taiwan.

This position will report to the procurement director and will work alongside a team of offshore wind experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the whole tender process and prepare ITT (Invitation to Tender) material
  2. Review tenders, organize clarification meetings and negotiate contracts with different suppliers
  3. Manage the commercial relationship and communication with different supplier during tender phase, keeping close dialogue with them
  4. effective liaison, support and assistance between tender process department and rest of organization to validate the approach, pricing assumptions, contract conditions, budget preparation and workplans
  5. Ensure timely delivery of the tender
  6. Drive governance processes and required presentation material towards different stakeholders and decision bodies such as the Steering Committee
  7. Set up and maintain a database of suppliers
  8. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Skills and Experience Required:

Relevant education, e.g. Bachelor or Master’s degree in Economics, Law, Business Administration or Engineering, and minimum 2 years of relevant experience with contract management and procurement of large-scale infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate has solid contract management experience in a multi-cultural project environment within the energy sector and possess the following:

  1. In-depth knowledge of the full tender cycle; from preparing ITT (Invitation to Tender) material to reviewing tenders, selecting process and negotiating contracts
  2. A strong commercial outlook with excellent collaboration and negotiation skills
  3. Ability to keep a sound overview that allows you to act proactively while still having the eye for details to ensure high quality
  4. Structured personality with the ability to combine multidisciplinary inputs and deliver informed solutions
  5. Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  6. Good team player with an entrepreneurial mindset
  7. Excellent communication skills with ability to present and communicate complex matters on various levels
  8. Technical / commercial / contractual skill set
  9. Previous relevant experience in procurement phases of offshore wind or similar industries preferably with FIDIC Yellow Book based contracts
  10. Knowledge of the Taiwanese offshore wind market
  11. Experience with foundations supply is preferable but not an absolute requirement
  12. Fluent in English

The Opportunity

We are looking for two procurement managers with 2 – 4 years of experience.
As a procurement manager, you will:

  1. Plan, implement and execute procurement and/or tender strategies;
  2. Draft and negotiate contracts including service, consultancy, supply and installation contracts;
  3. support and advise JUMBO’s clients on ad-hoc issues

On a day to day basis through the procurement process; tendering, negotiations and contract execution; you will:

  1. lead and coordinate commercial, technical, financial and legal expertise from both our clients and within JUMBO, while in turn ensuring compliance with our clients governance and approval procedures;
  2. look to provide maximum value to our clients in terms of quality, price and schedule while minimizing risks;
  3. lead and perform the complete procurement process including issuing of requests for information, requests for proposals and tenders, evaluating proposals, recommending the award of and finalising contracts;
  4. ensure that the procurement process is executed according to client policies and procedures, and documented in order to allow transparency and traceability throughout;
  5. identify all value items and their relationship within the scope of the procurement and set the tender strategy according to a well-defined awarding criteria;
  6. coordinate the flow of information internally and externally keeping all stakeholders informed on progress;
  7. finalize the commercial and contractual deal as a basis for the contractual finalization through standard general conditions and/or managing exceptions to those together with Legal and the main stakeholders;
  8. achieve maximum value while minimizing delivery, quality and performance risks. Find compromises and solutions to drive negotiations to a close under time pressure;
  9. actively participate in vendor relationship management, including: general communications and regular meetings, maintaining and improving vendor and market knowledge.

Procurement and Contract Manager with an international outlook for Offshore Wind Projects, Poland

We are looking for an ambitious candidate with a legal, commercial and/or engineering background who is interested in becoming part of the booming renewable energy including offshore wind industry negotiating and managing contracts for large scale renewable energy projects in Northern Europe and beyond.

In addition to the daily tasks as procurement and contract manager, the candidate will take a leading role in JUMBO Consulting Group’s entry into the German market assisting our country manager in all aspects of the business development.

Skills required:

The ideal candidate will:

  1. be fluent in English and German (written & oral);
  2. have experience from either the offshore wind industry or other large-scale civil engineering or construction projects;
  3. have experience with international contract standards, e.g. FIDIC, BIMCO or similar industry standard contracts;
  4. have a background as a qualified lawyer (German or other internationally recognised body) specialised in construction, contract and/or procurement law, or alternatively, have a commercial and/or engineering degree with experience of the same and a willingness to learn and develop;
  5. have an appetite for working in an international environment and renewables;
  6. be an ambitious, hard-working individual who can work well independently and as part of a team.
  7. develop internal strategies to further enhance JUM-BO’s policies and contract development tools.

WTG Procurement Specialist – Offshore Wind, Renewable Energy Projects, Denmark

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced WTG procurement specialist to support the development of large scale renewable energy projects in Northern Europe and beyond.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks:

As a WTG procurement specialist, you will:

  1. Develop, implement and execute procurement and tender strategies together with our customers
  2. Be responsible for drafting, tendering and negotiating contracts for WTG supply and installation
  3. Plan, conduct and lead tender processes, including EU tenders
  4. Support the contract management functions in managing multiple contracts throughout the execution and service phases
  5. Provide ad-hoc support and advice to JUMBO’s customers
  6. Support the further specialization and development of the WTG competence center within JUMBO
